I can't believe Mila is almost the same size that Zoya was when we brought Zoya home!!! When Zoya came home I believe she was approximately 22 pounds and betwen 29-30 inches (I'll have to look back to check). Mila is 20 pounds and 28.75 inches! Zoya was 22 months old and Mila is 13 months old. Zoya was not tiny compared to most orphans either. In fact she was "carb-overload-chubby" in her face and belly, while her arms and legs were like spaghetti. Well, I guess Mila has really caught up! She is now bigger than 30% of all babies her age! When people ask how she grew so fast, my answer is "God and goat's milk!" haha! I suppose her heart surgery helped (although she did gain a good amount before she even had that), and all the love she's getting (she might be a little spoiled!)
So today I pulled out the first of the clothes we had bought for Zoya....size 12 months. Zoya wasn't in 12 months long at all, so we don't have many 12 month clothes, but I put one of Zoya's old outfits on Mila and almost cried! It brought back so many memories. Now, clearly, you can see Mila is just at the beginning of 12 months size, and here Zoya was toward the end, but it still touches my heart!

Zoya snoozin' in the cat jams in Ukraine |

Mila in the same outfit that her big sister once wore! How come I can't remember Zoya nearly that small??? |
Oh, my! They are BOTH so adorable. It's amazing how fast they grew with your love and care.
ReplyDeleteCrazy to look back at how they each came to us....God truly protected them and allowed them to prosper!
DeleteThey both wear it beautifully. The fact that their ages are vastly different is mind blowing. Look at both of them so cute in pink.
ReplyDeleteMila is getting so strong, pretty soon she'll be scooting along...
Looks like Zoya is reading Mila a book. Smart girl that Zoya!
Shawn would like Mila to start scooting and crawling....but I'm in no rush :)
DeleteThey are both so stinkin' cute, not sure how you get anything done around your house. LOL
ReplyDeleteOh I don't ;)
DeleteHow neat that they shared the same outfit! I hadn't yet found your blog when Zoya was that little so it's awesome to see how that sweet girl of yours has grown! Also, in awe of the fact that even in that orphanage environment, the Lord protected her heart so that she'd still reach out for snuggles from her mama and daddy. Amazing!
ReplyDeleteSimply amazing how God protected both of our girls!!!
