A Monster!

We interrupt this usually cute blog to alert you that there is a monster lurking in the Basile household. Her name is Zoya and she can be seen poking her baby sister in the eye, telling her parents NO to everything they say, having long tantrums in time out, and peeing her pants on purpose to try to get out of time out (that trick only worked once but girl keeps tryin to see if it'll work again).

Guess the honeymoon is over folks.....
I guess after having your parents gone for weeks and then having them return with another little being that is getting just as much of her mama and daddy's love, it was bound to happen sooner or later. Hoping we're on the upswing of this after a brutal past 2 days!

Off to pour more love into my devil angel-child :)

  1. Well, who could blame her?!? I would worry more if she did NOT feel a little jealous! It will pass and soon she will know that she is still loved just as much as ever! I keep forgetting to say how much I love your new blog header...just gorgeous! Hang in there Momma and Daddy, this phase will pass! It's a wonderful testimony to how much Zoya loves you guys!! YEAH!!!!

  4. Yep, it sounds like Zoya is taking her role of big sister very seriously- jealousy and all. I think this is normal, both for the reasons you stated and the simple fact that Zoya is 2. I'm sure it will get better and I'm sure you and Dad will adjust to saying "stop tormenting your sister" before long too. Once the jelly bean gets moving you will direct that phrase at her just as much as Zoya. That's what having a sister is all about- having a best friend you can pick on!

  5. Oh my... Rough patch ahead. You'll do great! Hopefully Zoya will figure out that Mila is there to stay and make her peace with it. Love the pictures, Mila looks so different already.

  6. Oh no... Little Zoya monster! Has she been at home more so and less at school then usual? My friend had a baby over the summer and her older daughter (age 4) was at home more and drove her up the wall, regressing and just being a huge pill. As soon as she stared back at school a month later she was back to her norm and behaving again.

  7. Sending prayers of peace for your household. I think you're right, that all sounds like a HUGE adjustment for little Zoya, she is doing the best she can with all that has changed in her world. God bless her sweet heart and may your happy, helpful little girl return...soon! :)

  8. My daughter tried the whole peeing in her pants to get out of time out, and it actually worked for her! For a while, anyway :)

Glad you are back and have your sweet little one. .

It'll work itself out! Soon, she'll forget what life was ever like without her Mila!

  10. As I said in a previous post, I worried this would happen---even though it's totally normal i can imagine it's NOT fun lol!
Glad you are just loving on Zoya and reassuring her that she will always be very much loved. And like another person said, in a way it's a good sign. She sure has formed a bond with her mama and daddy and doesn't want to lose that! NOT that she ever could--and she will figure that out soon enough! Hugs to your sweet angel babies--and mama and daddy too. Prayers continue!
