When I got home I counted on my calendar...in the past two months (41 weekdays) we've had 47 therapy and/or medical appointments for the girls! That is not including the fun stuff like dance, or play dates! That means we've had just about one appointment per day and sometimes multiple appointments in the same day. Many of those appointments have been out of town-2 to 2 1/2 hours away. It just seems all their annual appointments fell at the same time as all of Sofia's "newly home" appointments and some other appointments that popped up. I'm not complaining, I'd do it all over again and again and again and am so thankful we have access to such great medical care and therapy for them! I'd go to the ends of the earth to give them everything they need. I was just shocked when I saw that number. So I gave myself a little pat on the back and said "See! You've been working harder than you ever have before!!!"
Each appointment or therapy is a chance to live out love for our girls. Of course we snuggle them up good at home too, but with each and every appointment, we learn more about our girls and how to help them better...but even more than that we learn how to love better. Love always involves sacrifice, but the best part is that when you're doing things out of love, it stops feeling like a sacrifice and starts feeling like a gift.
