Mila's FIRST Birthday!!!

We are so blessed that Mila got to spend her very first birthday with us, her family! This is something that, unfortunately, most former orphans do not have the pleasure of doing. Many spend their first (and many more) birthdays in an orphanage without a family. Our sweet jelly bean (or should I start calling her 'meatball'...you'll see what I mean in the pictures) will never have to celebrate a birthday outside of her family! We love any reason to party, but celebrating birthdays with our sweet girls? There's just nothing better!

"It's my party and I'll cry if I want to!"

HAPPY FIRST BIRTHDAY MILA!!

  17. You're so funny!! Meatball!!:) What's really great is that a month or so ago, I would have gotten teary-eyed over the sight of a crying Mila. When I saw her picture just now, I laughed out loud because I know that behind those tears is a happy, healthy, loved girl, and that it looks like she was crying because perhaps something didn't go her way, as babies do, and not because she felt hurt or sad. You brighten many days with such happy posts. Thank you:)

  19. Oh my goodness, she is so adorably chubby! I think that the officials in the foreign countries that oppose these adoptions, that think children with DS are better of in institutions should see these pictures. You are obviously taking extremely good care of her, she has just changed so much. I love love baby chub!!
