Our Little Fighter!

Mila is home tonight after charming the nurses and doctors once again :) She seems to be doing well. She's eating well but not wanting to drink much so I'm having to get creative there! The nurse said when she came out of surgery she popped up on the side of her crib and put her arms up to be held, still not fully awake! Sweet girl :) We had the best cuddle time ever over the past couple of days. It's always difficult trying to get any sleep in the hospital between the patient care technician coming in to check stats and then the nurse coming in to check and give meds. Poor Mila was woken up at midnight, 1, 2, and 4am. It took me about 30-45 minutes to get her back to sleep each time, just in time for the next person to come and wake her. By the 4th time Mila was having none of it and started crying (probably saying JUST LET ME SLEEP PEOPLE!!!). She did get a good chunk of sleep from about 4:30am-7:30, though. They said days 5-10 post op are the worst for the surgery she had, so hopefully the tylenol will be enough to keep her pain under control! I'm pretty sure she doesn't want to end up in the hospital again, although she really seemed to enjoy all the 1-1 time with mama :)

Mila resting up before surgery

Hanging out at Ronald McDonald House!

Such a Diva!

She was getting sleepy on the big bean bag

Morning of surgery, making her scary face!

She was well rested and climbing and crawling around the waiting room!

All dressed up and no place to go! (Her doctor was called into a cardiac emergency so we waited a lot longer than planned for her surgery).

We sang some Itsy Bitsy Spider (Mila's new favorite song, complete with hand motions).

Waiting just meant some more time in the play room. Here Mila is getting ready to dive, her new favorite activity HAHA!

She was getting restless, so we decided to take a stroll in the wagon.

On our 33rd lap (I believe) she passed out! Such hard work!

And she got a nice nap in before surgery :)

When it was time to go back Mila had an opinion about my marshmallow suit!

"Do you guys see this lady? She looks a little like my mama but something's different!"

"Now she's laughing just like my mama, this is SO WEIRD!"

All done! In recovery :)

She was thrilled when the doctor said she could have her binky!

Thankful for the iPad! Listening to some music :)

We had some great friends come to visit, bring dinner and they brought a frosty for Mila. She at the whole thing!!!

Finally sleeping (for a couple hours anyways)

I figured out how to get her to sleep past 7am! Just wake her up nearly every hour overnight ;)

Getting ready to be discharged!

On our way home :) Daddy came to pick us up...what a guy!

She was really happy when she woke up from her car nap and realized we were on our way home!

Silly Girl!

When we got home Mila's new frames were waiting! She is outgrowing her other little pink ones, so we ordered a larger size in a new color :) We'll have the lenses put in after her next eye appointment in a couple months! I think she looks adorable in purple frames!
Thanks for your prayers for Mila's surgery! We hope her recovery continues to go as well as it has so far!

  4. Hi. I have been a blog follower for a while now, but have never commented. I think all 3 of your girls are just adoreable and I enjoy your blog posts. I am glad Mila's surgery went well and I hope the recovery goes easy for her. I have a question, Mila seems to always wear a gold necklace, I was just wondering, if there a special reason for the necklace or is it the little diva girls favorite? Just curious. I look forward to your posts and nejoy seeing these girls thrive. Thanks for sharing.
