Sofia's Welcome Home Party!

Yes, we waited 5 months before having Sofia's welcome home party :) In all fairness, we waited at least 3-4 months with the other girls too! We decided to wait for Sofia to feel safe and secure with us AND for nicer weather! We did a "You are my Sunshine" theme because Sofia is our little sunshine! We had an awesome time celebrating her adoption with people we are so thankful for!

Uncle Bub made that beautiful sign for Sofia!!! Didn't he do an awesome job?? It's now hanging in our playroom and I smile every time I look at it!

One of the only pictures I got before the party started! Those plates were soon filled with delicious cookies made by Aunt Jennifer :)

A timeline of photos to celebrate Sofia!

Zoya woke up from her nap first, and when she saw this...
she nearly started crying with excitement! She was shaking and near tears and it took me a minute to figure out that she was JUST REALLY EXCITED!!!!!!!!! So funny!

Sofia FINALLY got to meet Great Grandma!! We think Sofia looks a LOT like Great Grandma and they were fast friends! (Great Grandma figured out Sofia likes to eat!) We joke that they may actually be blood related since GG does have relatives from Ukraine!

GG loved the pink tootsies!

Mila enjoyed GG's beads!

Typical girl, she's got her shades, jewels, and checking the manicure :)

Zoya and GG!

LOVE this one!

We were so excited to hear Aunt Debbie was bringing GG and the girls :)

Mr. Spitz snuggling Mila!

She really enjoyed her gluten free cake!

Sister knows how to savor every last bite!

This sweet young lady helped to bring Sofia home by donating her birthday money! What a big heart and a bright future she has! I got teary seeing her side by side with Sofia!

Lots of snuggles for the guest of honor!

Gramma Liz giving Sofia some "settle down" time :)

Aunt Carol and Mila being silly!

Sofia kisses from Erin!

Zoya found some dirt somewhere...

Another special friend we met in our journey to adopt Sofia! We have been so blessed by this family!

That little pink car under the hat was a gift to Sofia and one of the coolest toys I've ever seen! It's a Rubbabu!  I had never heard of the brand before but they have some awesome toys!  It is soft and rubbery and light....a perfect toy for our wild one who likes to throw things!

One of our very favorite families! The Spitz Family!! I think back to our picture we took at Zoya's welcome home party and our families were MUCH smaller then! I love it! In this picture you see 6 babes with Down Syndrome all adopted from Ukraine (and two cute non-Ukrainians haha!)

Sweet Sofia dancing with Mama and singing "You are My Sunshine"

So thankful for so many awesome friends who celebrated Sofia with us!

Here's Uncle Mike with both babes he escorted home from Ukraine...Mila and Lyla!

Sofia's first time in a bounce house!!! She enjoyed it!

Uncle Bub making Sofia laugh!

We are so thankful for Sofia! If you've not read the story about how we were led to her, please
