We are hanging in there. Last night Zoya fell asleep around 7:45 and slept peacefully until about 11 when she started coughing horribly. We gave her some more cough medicine but it didn't seem to make a difference. I turned on the steamy shower and we stood in the bathroom with her for a while but that didn't help either. It is a phlegmy cough but really loud and sounds painful. She slept through the whole coghing epsidode, which lasted about 2 hours, but I'm sure it wasn't very restful. At the orphanage she usually slept until 6:30 when they'd wake her up. We let her sleep an extra hour this morning and if she wouldn't have dropped a bomb in her diaper we would have let her sleep a little longer! Last night was tough. We were both going on about 4 hours sleep from the night before and the added stress of Zoya being sick and wondering if we will ever get out of here was tough. We managed to sleep for about 6 hours last night so hopefully that will be enough until we get home :( Today our agenda is to pick up Zoya's Visa at 2pm.
Our flight is scheduled to leave Kiev tomorrow morning at 5:35. So far similar flights have been cancelled. We are hoping and praying things will keep opening and by tomorrow we can leave. Tonight we are staying with a missionary family that lives near the airport. They will take us to the airport in the morning and then if our flight is cancelled we will stay with them until we can get a flight out, which looks like it could be another week before we could get anything else. Everything here is very backed up. We hope and pray that things will be on schedule tomorrow. IF we leave tomorrow, we are scheduled to get in at 10:50 into Erie tomorrow night. Come one come all to the airport...not to meet Zoya but to catch me when I collapse in exhaustion! I don't know how much I will be able to update the blog after tomorrow morning but will try to keep in touch somehow so those of you that wanted to meet us at the airport will know if we are coming in or not. Thanks for the continued prayers....we need them!
